The spokesman for the command, Bright Edafe, stated this in a statement on Tuesday in Warri.
“Area commanders and DPOs must locate schools, churches, mosques, and correctional centres in their areas and ensure maximum security…,” Mr Oyeniyi said.
A polytechnic student has been chased to his death allegedly by police officers. Police commissioner Yemi Oyeniyi said the operatives involved in the chase had been identified.
Mr Edafe said vigilant residents intercepted the suspect while he was carrying the child inside a sack.
The Amnesty international noted that Mr Ogidi was unarmed and posed no threat at the time he was allegedly shot at close range.
The police have attributed the extrajudicial killing of a man in handcuffs by an officer, Usman Nuhu, in Delta to spiritual forces.
The incident comes nearly six years after the #EndSARS protests against police brutality.
The command said the suspect was apprehended during a coordinated stop-and-search operation.
Mr Edafe assured that the matter is being looked into and urged the victim to reach out to him.
Aina Adesola, the police commissioner in Delta, has ordered the detention of officers in Asaba who used a point-of-sale operator at the station to extort accused persons.
