The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 168 (1) (d) and 281 (2) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The magistrate adjourned the case to January 27, 2025 for mention.
The court struck out the case for want of diligent prosecution.
The police prosecutor said that the offences violate sections 287 (7), 328 (1)Â and 411 of Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendant, whose address is unknown, is standing trial on a two-count charge of fraud and stealing.
Mr Famuyiwa said the defendant fraudulently collected the money under the pretence of selling a car to one Elvis Ocha, the complainant.
The magistrate, O.O Otitoju, ordered the defendant remanded in prison custody until May 10 to review the case facts and sentencing.
The Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday remanded a 43-year-old man, Oni Jelili, in Kirikiri Prison custody for defiling a 10-year-old girl.
“He took her forcefully out of the school for three days to his house at No. 590, Ikorodu Road, Mile 12, without the consent of her parents,” a police statement said.
The defendant pleaded not guilty.
