Gazprom halted gas supplies to Germany via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline due to maintenance at the beginning of September and then refused to resume delivery.
Taking control of the Rosneft Deutschland is the latest move by Germany to shore up its energy industry.

The deadline for the rouble payments had been set for Thursday. Mr Putin is meeting Gazprom and central bank officials on Thursday.
“Therefore we are not interested in the endless growth of prices for energy resources, including gas,” Mr Putin said on Wednesday.
