The emergency trial of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu, is set to begin at the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court.
Attorney General Abubarkar Malami at a press briefing on Friday claimed Mr Kanu and IPOB were behind several killings and arson in South-East and Lagos.
The Biafra separatist leader will remain in custody until the next hearing date.
Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer said though the detaining authority was giving him medical care, there was still a need to afford him advanced medical care.
Many media organisations were denied access to Federal High Court, Abuja, where the trial of Nnamdi Kanu was billed to hold on Monday.
