Ms Oluwatobi told The Gazette that the demonstration was caused by several displeasing policies and actions by the university management.
The management urged students to exercise patience and refuse to be misled or used by individuals or groups with vested interests.
The students’ body said that the demonstration would commence at 6 a.m.
The students’ union extended its heartfelt condolence to family, friends, peers and the victim’s classmates.
The VC noted, “It also highlights the exceptional quality, discipline and ingenuity of our students.”
Students of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, have ended their 72-hour lecture boycott over the institution’s inadequate transportation system.
The atmosphere across the CBT centres visited was peaceful.
Mr Habeeb said, “The boycott started yesterday and it is in full effect.”
