Lawmakers are accusing agencies in the ministry of agriculture and rural development of not remitting 25 per cent IGR to the government as stipulated by law.
If elected, Muhammad Sadiq-Wali said his administration will promote small-scale businesses and local/indigenous industrialisation.
Mr Sanwo-Olu said Lagos IGR is not in the hands of “third party,” but adequately utilised for developments.
The governor said the gesture was because the varsity has demonstrated “credibility, accountability and judicious use of resources.”
The 2022 budget estimate was 9.9 per cent higher than the 2021 budget at N169.8 billion.
The governor did not give details on the state’s debt portfolio, except that repayment was done at the ratio of N1.2 billion monthly.
The state says it plans to boost its IGR through agricultural products and livestocks such as cattle, goats, sheep, pigs and poultry.
Anambra’s internally generated revenue has increased from N10 billion in 2014 to N26 billion in 2019 representing a 152 per cent increase, says Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
The governor said the state’s IGR rose close to N15 billion without an increase in taxes in the first two years.
