EFCC said there was a need to preserve the funds in the identified bank accounts pending the conclusion of the investigation and possible prosecution.
On January 31, the judge issued a warrant for the arrest of Mr Ehie over his alleged involvement in the burning of part of the Rivers’ House of Assembly.
Mr Iheanacho said the court would be taking a grave risk by granting the Binance agent a bail.
The EFCC declared the former governor wanted over alleged N80 billion looting of Kogi state’s treasury.
“I am of the view and I do hold that the suit lacks merit.’’
When the matter was called for the arraignment of Mr Bello on a 19-count money laundering charge preferred against him, the former governor was not in court.
The court on Wednesday ordered that the EFCC should be issued a warrant for Mr Bello’s arrest.
Mr Bello had already appealed to President Bola Tinubu to direct the EFCC not to arrest him.
EFCC counsel E.E. Iheanacho countered his colleague, asserting there was nothing wrong in Mr Gambaryan’s detention in Kuje prison.
