Police spokesman Abimbola Oyeyemi said on Friday that though the people had the right to protest, they should not disrupt public peace.
The protesters said the bonfire was “to demonstrate to show our grievances as we can no longer bear this hardship.”
The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday.
The accident was caused by route violation by the unregistered truck which collided with the bus.
The sector commander said 12 vehicles, comprising three luxurious buses, four tricycles, three motorcycles and a yellow bus, were involved in the explosion.
Mr Okusi emphasised the need to caution motorists driving against traffic at the Ewekoro area on the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway because they were always adamant.
The passerby died in multiple accidents that involved three vehicles at the toll gate on Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
“The corpse of the victim has been deposited at the morgue of the General Hospital, Ifo,” he said.
