The officer added that joint rescue operations were carried out by FRSC, the Nigeria Police, and the Lagos State Fire Service.

Mr Buhari said he sympathised with the traders and their families, ”who bear the brunt of this unfortunate incident and are at crossroads of what to do after this temporary setback.”
The director also said that the service had put out another fire incident at the Leisure Mall on Adeniran Ogunsanya Street, Surulere, Lagos.
Mr Hundeyin said that the suspect has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
Emergency responders in Lagos are at the scene combating the fire but the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
The incident happened at Iyana-Oworo, inward Third Mainland bridge.
“The fire ignited as a result of a power surge when electricity was restored. Fortunately, there was no casualty in the incident.”
The fire, which started at a furniture workshop at 10:45 p.m, spread to the three-storey building on Sunday.
