The Christian politicians said that the APC’s decision to field a Muslim-Muslim ticket “will certainly result in a massive revolt against the party…”

Mr Garba said that unlike their Muslim counterparts, Northern Christians do not command regional and national followership.
“We sat down in Abuja and strategised, and we concluded that he should not take a Muslim as running mate. He (Tinubu) threw away the report.”
Mr Tinubu made the announcement on Sunday in Daura, shortly after meeting President Muhammadu Buhari.
“Muslims and Christians are from the same father; Abraham is known as Ibrahim in Islam,” the former Oyo governor said.
“We implore you to use your good offices to weigh in on Tinubu and the APC to thread with caution and refrain from unyielding desire to foist on the nation a Muslim-Muslim ticket.”
“Whether a Muslim or a Christian, we are all Nigerians. It has been long that I have been advocating that we should de-emphasise what divides us.”
