His legal team and associates said they had not been briefed on his whereabouts.
Mr Adejobi said that upon intervention by the operatives, “12 children, ranging in age from six months to fourteen years, housed in the premises” were discovered.
The police said that the fugitive was returned to the country in the early hours of Saturday.

The force spokesperson said officers recovered some arms and ammunition, mobile phones, N5.2 million and vehicles of the kidnapped victims.
Mr Obi said the police needed to extend similar professionalism to cases of ordinary Nigerians, whose cases often occurred and were ignored.
