“When I was in America, his girl called me to say he locked himself in the toilet and wanted to kill himself,” he said.
He added, “I am fully cooperating with the police team, and I certainly have no reason to be a fugitive when I have no hand in his death.”
While Mr Bakare clarified that he was not blaming the rapper for his tragic fate, he questioned the inspiration behind the artist’s chosen name.
“Please assist me in locating Naira Marley.”
The commissioner added that they would be declared wanted if they failed to honour the invitation.
In a video that circulated online, protests rocked the streets of Panseke in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Tuesday.
“I started hearing…some of the things that they said that they bought for the other guy, the house, the cars, were not in that boy’s name. Omo, that is wickedness.”
“Somebody called me and said the man (MohBad’s father) is grieving. How will you say the man is grieving, and he is saying all those things as if he has been bribed?”
“I am scared that we are getting so emotional that we are overlooking the real issues before MohBad’s death,” ID Cabasa said.
The police have established a dedicated 13-member investigative team to probe the death of Mohbad.
