Mr Nimrod said that the decision also considered the 2027 general elections.
Mr D’Onofrio announced his resignation in a statement, noting that he made the decision to leave “in order to ensure the sustainable future of The Post”.
He said the timely release of funds would significantly enhance the preparation of national teams.
The tournament is scheduled to run from February 2 to 9, after which all clubs are expected to depart Abuja.
The tournament will take place from January 30 to February 8 at the Indoor Sports Hall, Package B, Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
Nimrod stated that the new championships would provide a dedicated platform for teams within military and paramilitary institutions to compete.
Nimrod told journalists on Friday that the girls gave a good fight in their third-place match.
The tournament started on Feb. 5 and ended Feb. 10.
He said the league champion (male and female) will qualify to represent Nigeria at the 2024 African Club Championships.
The Nigeria women’s senior team finished fourth at the 2021 African Nations Championship held in Kigali, Rwanda.
