The caretaker committees were approved by the National Working Committee on behalf of the National Executive Committee.
The governor stated, “If you remember, I joined the Labour Party before Peter Obi, so I did not join the party with him.”
The minister recalled warning the PDP leadership that if things were not done properly, the party could find itself in a very unfavourable situation.
Mr Wike questioned Mr Fubara’s ability to lead the party, saying his defection lacked a political structure and mass support.
Mr Obi said his decision to contest the presidency again was driven by his commitment to building a better-governed Nigeria.
Mr Wike further blamed Mr Makinde for all the legal actions that deepened divisions within the opposition party.
“PDP remains the torchbearer of Nigeria’s democracy. PDP is your party. PDP is the party of progress. PDP is the party that delivers,” Ms Itoyah-Splendor said.
According to him, the federal government should have been the first to report the news.
PDP said the Nigerian government should have been the original disseminator of the military action to adequately sensitise Nigerians.
Mr Turaki, in a statement on Wednesday, extended warm felicitations to Christian members of the party and the wider Nigerian community.
