The party claimed that Peter Obi, its presidential candidate, would be the country’s messiah in 2023 to break the yoke of poverty and insecurity in the country.
A video seen by Peoples Gazette showed a man whose facial features matched one of the fake bishops paraded at the popular Dei-dei market Saturday afternoon.
“Pulled by the brilliance of the candidacy of Obi and Datti, inspired by the passion of the Nigerian youths…, I, Valentine Ozigbo…formally join the Obidient movement.”
He asserts that the vitriol of ‘fake news’ attributed to ‘Obidient’ supporters is actually the handiwork of the opposition.
“We need a campaign based on issues that affect Nigeria. That is what I came here to do,” Mr Obi said.
The rhetoric on social media is fast dissolving into an ethnic brawl between the Igbo and the Yoruba.
“I have no quarrel with the issues of government borrowing. Government can borrow from here till eternity.”
The elections are still six months away, which is almost an eternity in a complicated and evolving political campaign.
The Kaduna governor added that the 200 people would include “those ‘imports’ that can’t open their shops on Mondays, and came on overnight bus last night!”
“If Nigeria had spent five per cent of the money borrowed so far on entrepreneurs and power generation, the country would compete with advanced countries,” reasoned Mr Obi.
