Popular political figures, Messrs Abubakar and Obi, have indicated interest in the coalition to defeat Mr Tinubu in 2027.

Mr Abubakar alleged that Mr Tinubu’s government was wasting the country’s resources on orchestrating crises within the opposition parties.
Mr Tinubu urged progressive-minded Nigerians to join the APC and participate in its developmental agenda.
Mr Obi stated that he was not afraid to visit Edo, despite a prior warning from Mr Okpebholo.
Mr Okpebholo said, “My job is to save the life of every Edo citizen and visitors coming into the state.’’
Mr Abubakar said, “Let it be known that a threat against Peter Obi or any of us is a threat against all of us!.’’
“Whatever he sees, he should take,” the Edo governor cautioned Mr Obi.
“We are also sure that anybody who tries to stand in our way, we will smoke that person out,” said Jarret Tenebe.
Governors aren’t elected to stoke tensions, but to calm them when they erupt.
