The federal government says it introduced the N5,000 cash handout, school meals and other programmes under the NSIP to reduce Nigerians’ poverty.
The official said that the social investment intervention had recorded successes across the state and had helped in reducing poverty.
Sadiya Umar Farouq, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, received the equipment to search and rescue persons in distress.
“We have not received any report from the state governors on how they distributed these food items. This has made us have a rethink.”
“The United States is the single largest donor for the humanitarian response in Nigeria.”
“The agency’s management only correctly nullified a questionable and hurriedly arranged recruitment that was marred by irregularities.”
The recruitment was conducted by the Public Service Institute of Nigeria, after approval by the board of the agency, chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
The presidency has been unwilling to speak about the continued public disappearance of President Buhari’s only wife.
Ms. Umar-Farouq made this disclosure on Thursday in Birnin-Kebbi.
Over 8,000 beneficiaries across the 44 Local Government Areas of the state are beneficiaries.
