The corps marshal’s visit to Lokoja followed his earlier personal monitoring of the Kaduna-Zaria-Kano highway.
FRSC has intensified nationwide enforcement to flush out dangerous drivers and eliminate life-threatening practices on major highways.
He also said that the directive signals the Corps’ uncompromising determination to dominate the roads.
The operation marked the commencement of a 30-day enforcement exercise aimed at reducing road crashes during the Christmas and New Year season.
FRSC said the directive would ensure the safety of motorists and other road users in active and inactive construction zones.
The union urged the defence ministry and security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue the remaining two officials unhurt.
