The police charged Charles Oji,42, and Joseph Lawrence,42, with conspiracy and theft.
A magistrates’ court in Kaduna on Wednesday sentenced Gidado Hamza, a 38-year-old unemployed man, to 100 hours of community service for stealing a goat.
The prosecutor argued that the defendant knowingly withheld critical information from security agencies in 2017.
Mr Nwachukwu said the complainant alleged that one Felix Nnandi dishonestly went into his shop and made away with his electrical appliances worth N23 million.
The police charged the defendant with misappropriation, criminal breach of trust and cheating.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against him.
The judge granted the defendant’s bail application on personal recognizance and adjourned the case until September 22 for a hearing.
The court announced that it would not be sitting on Thursday as previously scheduled.
The police said the defendant received 4,725 cartons of Honeywell Spaghetti valued at N54 million, knowing it was stolen.
On Thursday, two men, Hamza Naziru, 18, and Mohammed Muritala, 22, appeared before the Karu Upper Area Court, Abuja, for stealing security lights.
