TCN announces planned outage at Ondo substation

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Benin Region, has announced a scheduled outage at its Ondo 132/33 (KV) transmission substation on Tuesday, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Ndidi Mbah, the TCN’s general manager for public affairs, made this known in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday.
According to Ms Mbah, the planned outage is to enable TCN engineers to transfer the Ife-Ondo 132kV transmission line from the proposed Omotosho-Ondo 132kV line bay to the Ife-Ondo 132kV line bay.
She said that the inauguration of a newly installed 60 megavolt-ampere (MVA) 132/33 kV transformer would be carried out simultaneously at the substation.
“Consequently, Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) will be unable to off-take power supply to its customers in Okitipupa and Ondo Town during for 10 hours outage.
“TCN apologises for any inconvenience this will cause electricity consumers in the affected areas,” she said.
