Tinubu’s Hardship: Davido pledges N300 million charity donation for his birthday
Nigerian music star David Adeleke, aka Davido, has pledged a significant donation of N300 million to charity as part of his 2024 birthday celebration.
In a post on his X page, the singer said he would donate N300 million to support charitable causes, including “orphanages and a charity that helps young people stay away from drug abuse & addiction.”
He also mentioned that details for the donation will be communicated soon.
This year’s donation won’t be the first time Davido has given back on his birthday.
In 2021, the artist raised an impressive N200 million in just two days, calling on friends, family, and fans to contribute to his cause.
The funds from the 2021 donation went towards supporting orphanages and funding various social initiatives aimed at improving the lives of underprivileged children.
At the time, Davido encouraged his followers by saying, “If I can raise N200 million in 2 days, then we have to do more and change more lives.”
Davido’s generosity this year reflects his belief in using his platform and resources to make a positive impact, embodying his popular saying, “We rise by lifting others.”
