The Tinubu Media Support Group has urged Nigerians to support the administration of President Bola Tinubu toward actualising the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Superhighway.

The TSMG Chairman, Jesutega Onokpasa, said this at a news conference in Abuja.

He described the coastal road as a laudable and legacy project of the Tinubu administration that must be completed.

Mr Onokpasa faulted former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi’s criticism of the project, describing it as political.

He said that the duo was playing politics with a project of exceedingly great importance to many Nigerians.

Mr Onokpasa stated, “The coastal road is very dear to us, for instance in the Niger Delta, it connects all the parts of the South-West and the entirety of the Niger Delta. What Tinubu is trying to do with the road is justice because he is a president with conscience. Anyone against the coastal road is against the people of the Niger Delta and the South-West, indeed any such person is against our entire nation because the coastal road will have tremendous benefits on our entire nation. This insanity of playing politics with everything must stop forthwith and must no longer be tolerated.’’

He added that the contract for the project was legally awarded, adding that the law allowed the government to award a contract to a competent contractor without open bidding.

He urged Nigerians to continue to support the Tinubu administration despite the challenges facing the country.

He said, “No doubt Nigerians are going through difficult times.  Tinubu will fix the country. The truth remains that all things that Nigerians are going through were not caused by the president; rather there are things he is trying to fix. President Tinubu deserves our support. What I can tell you for free is that Tinubu has goodwill. He has a good heart, he means well. I can assure you that these are just teething problems. Our President will make our country the pride of the black race by the special grace of God.’’

He added that Mr Tinubu was working hard to fix the problem of the economy and other challenges.

Mr Onokpasa added that the rising cost of food in the country had nothing to do with the government but the greed of the middlemen.
