A new round of trilateral talks among Ukraine, the U.S. and Russia was concluded Wednesday in Geneva, with officials describing the discussions as difficult but constructive and signalling that further negotiations will follow soon.

Russian presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky told reporters that the second day of talks lasted about two hours.

He characterised the meetings as “difficult but business-like,” adding that another round of negotiations is expected in the near future.

No documents were signed during the talks, according to Russia’s state news agency RIA Novosti.

The closed-door discussions, held over two days, marked the third round of trilateral negotiations involving the three parties this year.
