Trump laughs as U.S. intelligence reveals new Iran leader Mojtaba Khamenei may be homosexual

U.S. President Donald Trump burst into uncontrollable laughter when he learned the new Iranian supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, might be gay and, despite being heavily medicated, was allegedly ‘aggressively’ seeking sexual favours from the men tending to the injuries he sustained in U.S.-Israeli airstrikes, a new report has revealed.
The New York Post on Monday said Mr Trump was shocked and could hardly control his laughter after senior administration officials briefed him that Mr Khamenei had a full-blown affair with his male childhood teacher and was on the verge of losing control with the male caregivers nursing him back to health since he was fatally injured by U.S. missiles that killed his father, Ali Ayatollah Khamenei, and other family members.
Mr Khamenei “has made ‘aggressive’ sexual overtures to men caring for him, possibly while under the influence of heavy medication,” The Post cited a source as saying.
While there is no tangible evidence, such as pictures or videos, to buttress the claim that he is gay, U.S. intelligence agencies insist the tip is genuine because it was “derived from one of the most protected sources that the government has.”
According to The Post, the younger Khamenei’s alleged homosexuality had long been a major concern for the slain Ayatollah, whose reservations about his second son’s sexual orientation evolved into fears that he should not succeed him.
“His father and others suspected he was gay, and that was something that people were spreading to try to stop his ascension,” The Post cited a highly placed source as explaining.
Other senior officers in the briefing room joined Mr Trump in laughing at the intel, given Iran’s stance against homosexuality and the death by hanging punishment imposed on violators.
Rumours of his homosexuality first swirled in May 2024 after then-president Ebrahim Raisi died in an air crash. Mr Raisi had been favoured by the late Khamenei to become Iran’s next supreme leader.
Mr Raisi’s death ignited discussions about potential successors and why the late Mr Khamenei ruled out his second son.
In 2008, WikiLeaks published a trove of U.S. diplomatic cables, including a missive describing Mojtaba as having married relatively late (around 30 years) “reportedly due to an impotency problem treated and eventually resolved during three extended visits to the UK, at Wellington and Cromwell Hospitals, London.”
“Mojtaba was expected by his family to produce children quickly but needed a fourth visit to the UK for medical treatment; after a stay of two months, his wife became pregnant,” WikiLeaks stated.
The Post said senior administration officials have tried to hush the news of Mr Khamenei’s purported homosexuality, but others had reservations to shield the leader of a nation that has repeatedly denounced homosexuality and executes violators.
“If there was ever a time where it was OK to out somebody, it would be when it’s a leader of a repressive Islamic theocracy that hangs gay people by cranes,” The Post quoted a source as saying.
Mr Trump has continued to diminish Mr Khamenei’s leadership, saying the 56-year-old was a “lightweight” incapable of leading Iran.
Last week, the U.S. promised to give a $10 million reward to anyone with actionable information on the whereabouts of Mr Khamenei and other senior regime officials.
