Two intending pilgrims killed in Kano road crash: Official
The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the death of two intending pilgrims in a road accident along Rimin Gado in Kano.
This is contained in a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Board, Sulaiman Dederi on Tuesday in Kano.
According to the statement, the deceased are Alkasim Ibrahim-Walawa, 48, and his mother, Hadiza Garba, 73, said to be travelling in preparation for the pilgrimage when the fatal accident occurred.
It stated, “Both victims were indigenes of Walawa Village in Kabo Local Government Area of Kano State.”
Mr Dederi said their passing was particularly heartbreaking as they were on a noble journey with the intention of travelling to the holy land for pilgrimage.
The board extend condolences to the bereaved family and pray for strength and patience for them to bear the loss.
