UGM kill Immigration chief in Imo

The Chief Provost of Nigerian Immigration Service in Imo State, Okiemute Mrere, has been killed by unknown gunmen.

Multiple media reports say Mr Mrere was murdered last Saturday on Owerri- Port Harcourt Road in Owerri.

Peoples Gazette learnt Mr Mrere’s corpse was discovered on Sunday morning in a bush.

Punch reports that Mrere was driving a Hilux van belonging to NIS when he was allegedly waylaid, and killed. The van was riddled with bullet holes

The news outlet gathered that the pistol belonging to the officer was not taken as it was discovered a day after his body was found.
