A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has urged party members to close ranks and unite ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

Mr Oyintiloye cautioned against bitterness, careless remarks, inflammatory utterances and anti-party activities that could undermine the party’s chances at the polls.

Speaking with journalists in Osogbo on Sunday, he stressed that unity within the party was critical to securing victory.

He also called on party leaders and elders to urgently address grievances and dissatisfaction among members, expressing confidence that the APC would win the election if internal issues were resolved.

According to him, victory for the party is non-negotiable, and any factor capable of hindering its success must be tackled decisively.

Mr Oyintiloye warned that entering the election as a divided house would be a costly mistake, emphasising that unity and a shared purpose are essential for success.

He added that all loopholes and lingering grievances that could prolong the party’s stay in opposition should be resolved without delay.

“The governorship election is fast approaching, and there is an urgent need for us to come together as one big family.

“There is no doubt that some members may be aggrieved for one reason or another, but such grievances should be addressed promptly to consolidate our impending victory.

“No divided house can win a battle. That is why I am appealing to all members to resolve their differences. The APC is cruising to victory,” he said.

Mr Oyintiloye described the party’s candidate, Alhaji Bola Oyebamiji, as a “sellable” contender with the capacity to win, urging members to support him fully.

He expressed confidence that, with the backing of party leaders and stakeholders, including Chief Bisi Akande, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Senator Ajibola Basiru, the APC national secretary, and Senator Iyiola Omisore, Osun would return to progressive governance after the election.

Mr Oyintiloye maintained that the APC would win the poll, noting that many voters were eager to return the party to power in the state.
