Zamfara govt mourns three police officers killed by terrorists

The Zamfara State government has expressed grief over the recent death of three policemen who died in the line of duty.
The three policemen from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit of the Zamfara police command paid the supreme price while on duty on Monday.
The officers were killed by an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by terrorists along the Anka-Bagega road in Anka Local Government Area of the state.
The Secretary to the State Government, Malam Abubakar Nakwada, led a high-powered state government delegation to the funeral prayers for the deceased.
The prayers were led by the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, at the police command headquarters, Gusau, in accordance with Islamic rites.
The SSG conveyed the heartfelt condolences of the state government and people to the IGP, the Zamfara police command, the bereaved families, and the entire police community.
He prayed to Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest and give their families the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
He also reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to providing continued support to the families of the fallen heroes.
Mr Nakwada further reiterated the government’s resolve to continue working with security agencies to rid the state of banditry and all other forms of criminality.
“This tragic incident will not make us relent; it only emboldens us. We will intensify our efforts, and victory is assured, In-Sha-Allah,” he stated.
