Abdul-Azeez Suleiman emerges Northern Elders Forum’s spokesperson

The Northern Elders Forum on Wednesday announced the appointment of Abdul-Azeez Suleiman as the new director of publicity and advocacy of the organisation. He replaces Hakeem Baba-Ahmed appointed as political adviser to Vice President Kashim Shettima’s office in September.
Mr Suleiman’s appointment was announced in a statement signed by the director-general, Prof. Danjuma Doknan Sheni, on Friday.
“The Northern Elders Forum is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Director of Publicity and Advocacy/Spokesperson, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, following an extensive search for the most suitable candidate, The appointment was approved by Professor Ango Abdullahi, the esteemed convener of the Northern Elders Forum, and is effective immediately,” the statement read.
The letter indicated that Mr Suleiman in his new role is expected to “amplify” the forum’s voice, ensure it reaches a wider audience, and foster collaboration between the forum and its stakeholders.
“Abdul Azeez Suleiman is expected to strive to amplify NEF’s voice, ensuring its message reaches a broader audience through his effective communication skills. Suleiman will foster understanding and inspire collaboration and generate constructive dialogue between NEF and its stakeholders,” the statement noted.
The statement also said Mr Suleiman was considered due to his proven prowess and experience in journalism and communication across several media houses where he “consistently exemplified professionalism.” Before this appointment, he was spokesperson for the Coalition of Northern Groups.
“NEF remains steadfast in its dedication to addressing the challenges faced by the region and is confident that Suleiman’s appointment will significantly enhance its objectives,” it further read.
