ADC to review ruling nullifying state congresses

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) said its legal team has been directed to review the judgment of a Federal High Court presided over by Joyce O. Abdulmalik who sacked the party’s elected but yet-to-be inaugurated state chairmen.
It noted that the directive at the instance of its leadership would advise the party on its next course of action.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, made the disclosure in a statement on Wednesday.
It said, “The attention of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has been drawn to media reports that the Federal High Court, presided over by Hon. Justice Joyce O. Abdulmalik, has sacked the elected, but yet-to-be inaugurated, state chairmen of our party.”
The party reiterated that its recent congresses did not truncate the tenure of the current state executives, noting that they would serve out their terms before the inauguration of the newly elected officials.
“Nevertheless, the leadership of the ADC has instructed its legal team to review the said judgment and advise the party appropriately,” he added.
