APC supporters defect to NNPP in Kano

The Kano State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Adamu Kibiya, has welcomed over 50 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Kibiya ward in Kibiya Local Government Area to the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
This is contained in a statement by the Kano Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation spokesperson, Balarabe Kiru, on Wednesday.
Mr Kibiya welcomed the APC supporters to the NNPP, citing Governor Abba Yusuf’s commitment to good governance and development projects.
The commissioner said the governor had implemented projects in health, education, infrastructure, empowerment, and agriculture, benefiting Kano residents.
He assured the new NNPP members of the party’s support and urged them to remain steadfast in ensuring the administration’s success.
Yakubu Alhaji, leader of the defected APC supporters, said they joined NNPP in recognition of the party’s commitment to development and good governance under Mr Yusuf’s administration.
He lamented that the APC administration had no development projects in the area in the past eight years, alleging that its policies were self-serving rather than people-oriented.
The councillor for Kibiya Ward, Auwalu Sarki, disclosed that more groups were set to join the NNPP, praising the commissioner’s efforts in promoting the party and Mr Yusuf’s policies in the Kibiya Local Government Area.
Mr Sarki said the commissioner’s work had been instrumental in attracting supporters to the party.
