Emmanson, KWAM 1: Lawyer slams N500 billion suit on AGF, Keyamo, others

Public interest lawyer, Ayodele Ademiluyi, has filed a N500 billion suit challenging the outcomes of aviation incidents involving one Comfort Emmanson, and a Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate.
A public interest lawyer, Ayodele Ademiluyi, filed the suit under the number FHC/L/CS/1632/25, listing the Ibom Air, ValueJet, President Bola Tinubu; Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi; Aviation minister, Festus Keyamo; Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority; Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Nigerian Correctional Service, KWAM 1, Nigerian Police Force, Akwa Ibom governor, Umo Eno, the state’s Attorney-General, Uko Essien Udom; and the Airline Operators of Nigeria, as respondents.
Recall that Miss Emmanson was swiftly charged to court, remanded and later released from Kirikiri prison, after allegedly slapping an air hostess of Ibom Air; while Mr Ayinde, said to have held ValueJet plane hostage, was awarded an airport security ambassador after making a public apology.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Mr Ademiluyi, who is the convener of the Movement for Justice and Secretary of the Radical Gender Movement, said the imbalanced outcomes of both incidents violated the rule of law and emphasised the institutional weakness and systemic decay in the aviation sector.
The lawyer said, “Our aviation system needs a complete overhaul. We cannot allow impunity to reign or degenerate into a banana republic where someone can stop a plane with their bare hands and walk away without consequence. It’s a gross imbalance. There was no arrest, no arraignment, no prosecution of Mr. KWAM 1. In fact, he was rewarded with a brand ambassadorship for the aviation sector. What message does that send to the public? If someone can stop a plane with their bare hands and be appointed a brand ambassador, it sends the wrong signal.”
The lawyer, accusing the minister of bias and slamming the AON for acting as “complainant, prosecutor and judge,” stated that the fact that Mr Ayinde, despite his serious crime, is still walking freely on the streets, “is a big slap on the rule of law.”
He therefore demanded “for an order of mandamus to compel relevant authorities to take proper action against those involved, particularly Mr. Kwam 1.’’
He explained that the case was not about celebrity status or political connections, but about the sanctity of the rule of law.
Mr Ademiluyi also called on the judiciary to use the case to set a precedent that no one, regardless of their influence or status, is above the law.
