“I don’t kill people or make trouble; I am government liability,’’ Portable says after declared wanted by police

Nigerian controversial street-hop singer, Habeeb Okikiola, otherwise called Portable, has reacted to being declared wanted by the Ogun State Police Command.
On Monday, the state command issued a special gazette bulletin declaring Portable wanted over an alleged attack on Ogun State government officials carrying out their duties.
The singer reacted to the allegations with a series of posts via his Instagram story, denying the claims against him and asserting that the arrest warrant was intended to target him.
He stated, “I don’t kill people, I don’t reap people. I wait for my own blessings, and I bless people inside my own blessings. I don’t make trouble; they set me up with the government. I don’t have any issue with the government or police. Some old people came to my house, saying we should pack out of my bar, my mansion, and my uncompleted hotel. They sealed it. Why are they attacking me?”
In another post, Portable begged the Ogun State government to recognise his status as a “federal government liability,” stating that he was a “musician” and asserting that “after God, it is the government.”
He stated that the majority of his income was from shows, which he used to invest in property. He noted that he felt he was under “spiritual attack” due to his property acquisitions and had yet to receive the documents because he only made part of the payment.
He pleaded with the government to help his life, claiming that the incident was a setup and people were “reaping” from his benefits.
The police said that the singer and nine armed thugs allegedly attacked officials of the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development “carrying out their lawful duties at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota. Armed with firearms and other weapons, he led a gang of nine thugs, injuring the unarmed officials. Portable fled the scene and nine accomplices were arrested.’’
Despite multiple invitations to appear at the police headquarters, Portable ignored them. The police urged the public to assist in his arrest and warned that anyone aiding him would face legal consequences.
