Islamic State member captured ahead of planned suicide bombing in Turkey

Turkish police on Monday captured an Islamic State member suspected of planning a suicide bomb attack in Turkey’s southern province of Sanliurfa, the Interior Ministry said.
Beshar El Mizhen, an IS member codenamed “Ebi Enes El Kahtani,” was detained by the local police in Sanliurfa, according to a ministry statement.
The police raid came after examining documents in a flash memory card seized during an investigation by the prosecutor of the southern Kilis province, the ministry said.
With the capture of the IS member, the 10th suicide bombing planned by the militant group in Turkey this year has been prevented, the ministry noted.
The Turkish government designated the IS a terrorist organisation in 2013, holding the group responsible for a spate of deadly attacks in Turkey since 2015, and conducting anti-terror operations against it across the country.
