The speaker of the Nasarawa House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau, has urged Nigerians to pray for the success of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administrations.

He also urged Nigerians to pray for God’s intervention to overcome the country’s challenges.

The speaker made the call during a Tafsir (Islamic sermon) organised by the Federation of Muslim Women Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN), Nasarawa chapter, on Tuesday in Lafia.

He said every leader needed prayers and support from his people to succeed, hence the need for his call in that direction.

“Let us also pray for our state and Nigeria at large, as the country needs prayers at this crucial time,” he said.

The speaker urged residents of the state to live in unity and peace, irrespective of their affiliations for development, to continue to thrive in the state.

“We are happy with what our governor is doing in the state towards bringing unity, peace and development to communities across the state.

“I also want to appeal passionately to our women to be patient and support their husbands to succeed and for the progress and development of their families,” he said.

The speaker further urged all residents to continue to be law-abiding, respect constituted authorities and live in peace irrespective of their affiliations.

Earlier, Hashiya Ahmed, FOMWAN chair in Nasarawa, appreciated the speaker for finding time despite his tight schedule to attend the tafsir.

She also appreciated the speaker for assisting women to break their fast and support for the building of the association’s secretariat.

The FOMWAN chairperson urged women to live in unity and peace with one another, irrespective of their differences.

The Tafsir had in attendance Maryam Ahmed, wife of the state accountant general; Maryam Mustapha, wife of the late emir of Lafia; and Rabi Ubangari-Alaku, wife of Aren Eggon.
