Police nab bar manager for raping schoolgirl

On Thursday, the Ogudu Chief Magistrates’ Court remanded a 29-year-old man, Oluwatobi Elijah, who allegedly defiled a 16-year-old girl.
The police charged Elijah with defilement.
The chief magistrate, M.O. Tanimola, did not take the defendant’s plea.
She ordered that he should be kept at the Ikoyi custodial facility pending the advice of the director of public prosecutions (DPP).
Ms Tanimola adjourned the case until February 24 for mention.
The prosecutor, Insp Donjor Perezi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on January 17 at his residence.
Mr Perezi said the defendant lured the teenager to his room on her way home from school and brought out a knife, threatening to stab her.
“Elijah covered the victim’s mouth with his hand and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her without her consent. The case was reported to the police, and the defendant was arrested,” the prosecutor said.
