Manir Dan ‘Iya, a former deputy governor under Aminu Tambuwal in Sokoto, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress ahead of the 2027 elections.
“It is a national movement rooted in hope, renewal and the collective resolve to save Nigeria from despair,” he said.
Mr Isah-Usman, the chairman and chief executive officer of the Usman Dantata Foundation, made the pledge on Tuesday in Minna.
This phenomenon of judicial verdict without judgment creates damage and feeds confusion in many ways.
“They change their principle to stay in a party, we change because we want an opportunity to build a new Nigeria,” he said.
Me Amaechi is now the second ADC presidential aspirant after Mohammed Hayatu-Deen.
Nantewe Yilwatda, APC chair, says the party is unconcerned about Mr Peter Obi’s defection from the ADC to the NDC.
The minister insisted that the Peoples Democratic Party remains the only opposition party in the country.
“He doesn’t want to participate in primaries. He prefers to be a consensus candidate, and that consensus must be him,” said the ADC chieftain.
