“The Osun guber poll is an eye-opener, and the APC should identify areas of weaknesses and make an effort to forge a formidable political force.”
The party’s felicitation, conveyed in a statement, described the victory as a well-deserved triumph.
Ademola Adeleke was elected governor on Saturday in Osun.
The chairman said the July 16 election was a referendum and proof that Nigerians wanted PDP back.
The main opposition leader said voters across Nigeria would take a cue from yesterday’s governorship victory of Ademola Adeleke when they head to polls in February 2023.
“This is a good omen for PDP and I can assure you that PDP is not going to lose any election any more,” the party chieftain said.
The opposition had touted the exercise as a harbinger of the 2023 general elections, in which Nigerians face the question of whether to remove or retain the party in power.
The corps said it was worried that suspected miscreants could capitalise on the opportunity to carry out mischievous activities.
The APC agents are said to be working in tandem with corrupt security officers.
The Oluwo of Iwo, Rasheed Akanbi, said he was endorsing the governor because he was prompt in paying civil servants salaries.
