The police command in Kano has arrested a three-man syndicate and recovered eight stolen tricycles.
The CP said the victim was abducted at his residence in the Durya village of Kibiya Local Government Area, and all hands are on deck to rescue him safely.
According to him, the suspects will be charged to court upon completion of investigation.
The decision followed consultations with the state government.
The suspects confessed to the crime, leading to the recovery of a Golf Wagon, a Golf Opel, and a Hijet (Kurkura) motor vehicle.
Two tricycles and a horse bought with the proceeds of the crime were recovered.

One person was killed in the fight, and two were wounded.
The commissioner of police, Ibrahim Bakori, commended the mother for her courage and urged parents to be vigilant.
He attributed the success to the collaborative efforts between the state government and the police command.
