Sa’ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto, has declared Wednesday, June 28, as the 10th day of Dhul-Hijjah 1444 A.H in Nigeria.
Mr Zulqarnaini made the call while addressing reporters after the Eid-el-Fitr prayers at the Islamic Centre Prayer Ground in Uwani, Enugu on Friday.
Mr Abubakar made the call in a statement on Wednesday by Sambo Junaidu, the chairman, Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, Sultanate Council, Sokoto.
He said that Wednesday, March 22, which is the 29th Day of Sha’aban 1444 AH, should be the day for Muslims to look out for the new moon of Ramadan 1444 AH.
The Cross River governor urged the Muslim faithful to be ambassadors of peace.
