Vandals destroyed six transmission towers on the crucial Apir-Lafia transmission line in Nasarawa, causing severe power supply disruptions, TCN said.
She said the maintenance exercise, which began earlier this year, would now continue until June 30, 2026.
The AEDC announced a power outage affecting several parts of the Federal Capital Territory on Saturday.
The exercise is scheduled to take place from 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Ms Ndidi said the adjoining towers, T100 and T101, were also vandalised, although they remained standing.
According to TCN, the clearance exercise was carried out on the new Ihovbor–Ajaokuta 330 kilovolt transmission line in Ihovbor Community, Edo.
Ms Mbah said the addition had increased the substation’s capacity from 300MVA to 450MVA.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria says it has successfully restored the 330 kilovolt Shiroro–Mando Transmission Line 2, following completion of repair works.
Ms Mbah that the campaign was carried out through a series of strategic engagements.
