The Enugu legislators have accused Nigerian soldiers of violating citizens’ rights in the March 18 governorship and state assembly elections.
The lawmaker pointed out that monthly pensions had continued to rise from N150 million to more than N500 million.
The lawmakers said they would work to “justify our primary responsibilities of law-making, representation and oversights.”
The State Assembly passed a N149.3 billion budget against the initial N148.9 billion presented by Governor Abdullahi Sule.
Mr Ugwuanyi said the “Budget of Consolidation and Transition” is 10.73 per cent lower than the N186 billion presented in 2022.
The lawmakers said tackling the multiple criminal activities bedevilling the state requires the joint efforts of security agencies.
The Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo would become Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo.
Mr Bello said the 2023 budget is geared towards providing peace and security, improving quality education at all levels.
While signing the budget, Mr Oyetola said that the 2022 budget as at the third quarter of the year, had recorded 83 per cent performance.
The budget was made up of N164.2 billion capital expenditure, representing 63.2 per cent and N95.5 billion recurrent expenditure, representing 36.8 per cent.
