The Delta governor reportedly issued a direct order for Mr Oliver to be freed, despite a valid court order granting him bail.
The Delta State government arraigned Mr Oliver in Court 3 of the Asaba Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Nkechi Edith Anumadu for Mr Onowakpor’s case.
The Delta State government accused Mr Oliver of using his Facebook account to publish posts that “exposed the complainants to public hatred and ridicule.
Mr Oliver was arrested in Abuja on September 18, 2025.
Mr Oborevwori had, in a petition to the police, accused the journalist of persistently publishing negative commentaries against him.
Mr Oliver has now spent 11 days in detention without being charged in any court.
The former Kaduna governor was one of only three ministerial nominations that were deferred when the list of 48 nominees was confirmed by the Senate last week.
The Senate received a second list of 19 nominees from Tinubu last Wednesday.
The Senate has asked ministerial nominee Stella Okotete to “take a bow” instead of being queried about her competence and suitability.
Ms Anenih maintained that women must be ready to fight for their space to be relevant in politics.
