Governor Abba Yusuf has inaugurated the distribution of 5.5 million tree seedlings across Kano
Mr Yusuf expressed concern over the high number of inmates, stating that out of 1,939, only 382 had been convicted, while 1,557 were awaiting trial.
The governor also approved the promotion of Zulaihat Aji to deputy managing director of Radio Kano.
The governor stated that he had the right to fire the permanent secretaries but he understood their importance as the administrative backbone of his government.
Mr Mustapha has been directed to step aside as permanent secretary of the Establishment to allow for an unhindered investigation.
Mr Ibrahim brings over three decades of distinguished public service experience to his new role.
Mr Yusuf met with the bereaved families and offered the state government’s condolences.
The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to monitoring the execution of projects across the state.
He commended the graduates for their dedication and outstanding performance.
Abba Yusuf said Kano remained the “home of the Holy Quran,” reaffirming the state’s leading role in Islamic scholarship and excellence in Qur’anic recitation.
