The governor says the compensation was recommended by the state judicial panel of enquiry on EndSARS.
The spokesperson for the command, Adekunle Ajisebutu, said hoodlums took advantage of the gridlock to attack motorists after the protest had ended.
Mrs Oyedepo also bemoaned the government’s non-committal to bringing killers of protesters to justice.
“EndSARS has become the emblem of the resistance by Nigerians against the insensitive, incompetent corrupt, divisive and decadent APC administration.”
GoKada rider Saintus Ugwu said he was apprehended by the police while through the Lekki Toll Gate with the Nigerian flag attached to his motorcycle.
Two of the men shot during the protest in Benin last year were also present at the anniversary rally.
Although heavily armed police operatives were seen around the protest routes, there has been no report of violent dispersal of protesters unlike the case in Lekki, Lagos.
Mr Odumosu claimed that those present after 10:00 a.m. were hoodlums, as “activists had informed us that their activity will start by 8:00 a.m. and last till 10:00 a.m.”
The protest which began peacefully became chaotic after the police fired teargas at the protesters whose numbers continued to swell as the demonstrations wore on.
A year on, despite the gravity of these human rights violations, not a single member of the security forces has been prosecuted.
