UK boy arrested for murder of 14-year-old Eghosa Ogbebor

The Metropolitan Police in a statement on Thursday stated that investigation into the murder commenced on April 2, 2026.

A 15-year-old Briton was on Thursday, arraigned at the Barkingside Youth Court on Thursday after he was arrested on Wednesday over the alleged murder of a teenager, Eghosa Ogbebor, on Thursday at Lord Warwick Street in Woolwich.

The Metropolitan Police in a statement on Thursday stated that investigation into the murder commenced on April 2, 2026, after operatives and the ambulance service found the badly injured 14-year-old victim, who was later confirmed died.

The statement read, “A boy has been charged in connection with the murder of 14-year-old Eghosa Ogbebor in Woolwich. An investigation was launched on Thursday, 2 April, after police were called to Lord Warwick Street following reports of a shooting. Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service and located Eghosa with serious injuries. He sadly died at the scene.”

The police, stating that specialist officers were supporting the family of the late victim, added that the suspect, “who cannot be named for legal reasons – was arrested on Wednesday, 6 May, and subsequently charged with murder. He will appear before Barkingside Youth Court on Thursday, 7 May.”

The latest development followed an earlier charge on April 10 of a 16-year-old boy from Romford for the murder of the same victim, and scheduled to appear on April 11 at the Thames Magistrates Court, where he was remanded.

Also, the police on April 4 apprehended a 19-year-old man in Woolwich on suspicion of murder, as well as a 46-year-old man for allegedly assisting an offender, but both suspects were released on bail, pending further enquiries.

In the same vein, a 14-year-old boy, 16-year-old boy, and an 18-year-old man, were nabbed on April 3 in connection with the murder, but were granted bail, pending further enquiries as investigation continues.
