Wizkid tells Buhari to focus on #EndSARS

Wizkid has lashed out at President Muhammadu Buhari over extrajudicial killings by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
Angered by the president’s show of solidarity to his US counterpart Donald Trump, who alongside his wife, Melania, had recently tested positive for Coronavirus, the pop star lampooned the Nigerian leader for failing to issue a statement on the recent killings by rogue officers in the country.
“I wish US President, Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, quick and full recovery from Covid-19”, Buhari tweeted on his verified Twitter handle on Friday.
Responding to the tweet, Wizkid asked Mr. Buhari to focus on ending police brutality in Nigeria.
“Donald trump is not your business!Â
“Old man! Police/Sarz still killing Nigerian youth on a daily! Do something!
Nothing concern u for America!
Face your country!!”, the musician tweeted on Sunday morning.
Wizkid also urged the Lagos governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to act fast to stop the harassment and killings ascribed to SARS.Â
“Mr Governor! I met with you December 2019! You expressed how proud you are of the entertainment industry and all we do. Pls do something let’s be proud of you too abeg ! #Endsars!!”
Mr. Sanwo-Olu previously said his government would address the issues.
Many social media users have reignited the #EndSARS hashtag to demand an outright scrapping of the unit after reports of multiple police killings in Delta and Abuja on Saturday.
