Lagos: Forty-foot container crushes man to death

A forty-foot container on Wednesday crushed one person to death, leaving another with a serious leg injury.

A forty-foot container on Wednesday crushed one person to death, leaving another with a serious leg injury.

The incident happened around 11:43 p.m. on Wednesday at Costain roundabout.

The trailer carrying a 40-foot container lost control and fell on two persons, a male and female. 

Olufemi Oke-Osanyitolu, permanent secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, confirmed the fatality.

According to the LASEMA boss, the female victim was taken to Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi Lagos and the remains of the male victim was handed over to the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit, (SEHMU).

The permanent secretary also disclosed that the truck conveying the container had been handed over to the police.
