Lagos lawmaker Alli-Macaulay, who shared constituency palliative as birthday gift, loses return ticket

Incumbent Lagos lawmaker Mojisola Alli-Macaulay lost her bid to return to Amuwo Odofin Constituency I at the Lagos State House West of Assembly.
She lost the ticket of the All Progressives Congress to Olaitan Folorunso at the primaries on Friday.
Three aspirants were voted by 20 delegates representing three wards from the constituency.
Mr Olaitan won the party ticket with 12 votes. Ms Alli-Macaulay got four votes. Another aspirant Adesina Ado got four votes.
The returning officer, Akintola Falade, announced Mr Olaitan as the Amuwo Odofin Constituency I winner.
“When we summed up the number of the figures, while Mojisola Alli-Macaulay scored four, Ado Adesina scored four, Folorunso Olaitan scored 12,” he said. “By virtue of that, we have Hon. Olaitan Segun Folorunso as the winner of the primary election conducted today, May 27, at Amuwo Odofin constituency 1.”
The incumbent lawmaker was exposed for sharing COVID-19 palliatives meant for constituents as her birthday gifts in 2020.
Similarly, during the #EndSARS movement, Ms Alli-Macaulay accused protesting youths of destroying properties in Lagos and called them “hoodlums” high on “drugs.”
“Even as a young person, why can’t you become a designer? There is no excuse for being a hoodlum. The National Orientation Agency needs to set to work. We need to begin to orientate our young people,” said the lawmaker. “They need people who can talk to them from time to time. They are high on drugs all the time, most of them,” Ms Alli-Macaulay said at the parliament.”
