The fierce objections come hours ahead of Mr Abbas’ sentencing at 1:30 p.m. on Monday in Los Angeles.

Mr Abbas’s actions come as his sentencing hearing is slated for September 21.

Ramon Abbas said his role in the indictment of Mr Kyari, which precipitated the downfall of Nigeria’s most-celebrated police officer, also put his family at grave risk in Nigeria.
Hushpuppi’s sentencing was earlier slated for July 11, and earlier on February 14.
